Friday evening sermon - notes

these are my notes of the Friday evening sermon [during the camp].

Title: Marked by the Holy Spirit
Acts 4:13
The disciples were with Jesus for 3 ½ years. Yet they lacked power (DUNAMIS).
Itz not what i know, but who i know.

John 16:7 - it is to your advantage
The Holy Spirit gives power for us to live as "little Christ"s.

Every Christian must have Two Touch
1. Touch of Salvation
2. Touch to have power to live for Christ

Be a Thermostat, not a Thermometer.

John 14
  1. He is a Person (not a force, not an energy)
Eph. 5 says that the Holy Spirit can be grieved
The Holy Spirit is not on us, nor upon us, but He is IN us!
So many things to rely on except the Holy Spirit.
  2. He has a tangible Presence. Acts 2:1-2
    SEAL - Eph. 1:13
    Holy Spirit represented by
    • birth
    • water (refreshing)
    • wind (blow His life into us. dead in us, come alive)
    • fire (heat burning away sins/dross. strength to overcome)
    • oil (energized like engine)
Voice of God; Heart of God
  3. He is the source of Power
The Holy Spirit takes what is from God. He operates and executes that power.
Acts 1:8. We can hinder God's power from working through us.
It is for our benefit because Lk 4:18 is for every believer.
The Holy Spirit wants to energize you!
The Holy Spirit never wants to glorify Himself, but to glorify Christ.
Jesus really really wants believers to know this -> that's why He cried out.
Jn. 7:37-38 Rivers of living water
There were 500 people who were told... But only 120 people were in the upper room... What happened to the other 380 people??
    1. Hungry
    2. Openness
    3. Come by Faith - He who believes

Fri Evening Service (video) part1

this is the first part- video of friday evening service (at the camp).

shownotes:
2 songs - "With All I Am" + "Refiner's Fire"
Chye Aik calling for any one with testimonies
Joshua Ang responding & sharing his testimony

[19.2MB, streaming video (.wmv file), 8min?]
watch it here!

to me, this is one of those times during worship (especially while listening to the video) where i felt that campers truly worshipped God from their hearts... and the result is beautiful, fragrant worship.

sermon notes to come

okay... so before i prepare and upload the sermon videos from the camp (NB: we did not take footage of the entire sermons, so i'll only be able to put up segments of the sermon.) ...

i will be typing out my own sermon notes (that i took down during the services in camp)... and posting it on the blog soon... This is necessary coz the video would not contain the full sermon. So some outline is required for clearer & more complete understanding of the message shared during the camp services...
why izzit my notes?
simple - i dun have easy access to anyone else's sermon notes...

BUT...
if you really want to share your sermon notes or if you think your notes are much better than mine...
please feel free to type out your sermon notes... and send me an email (please also include a brief statement about why you would like your notes to be posted on this blog :) at diligentone1980 at hotmail dot com.

resources

hmm, so what have you been doing since the ypm camp 2005: rezolution ended?

whether you have been attending ypm/ypms/church regularly since then... or been busy and caught up in "work"...
here are some resources to encourage you -
Disclaimer: these resources are simply meant to encourage young people - as in, these are excellent resources... these resources are not linked to the recent ypm camp 2005 (other than being written about in this post on this blog).

  • the prayer link site is still alive and kicking; in fact, itz evolved beyond the camp... visit the site; leave a tag/ testimony; pray, pray, pray!
  • there's an IGNITE conference coming up soon - 12-14 March (that's during the school holidays, right?). It's held at Cornerstone church. there are great speakers lined up, including Chris Long from Malaysia. So gather some friends, free up those dates, and sign up together! visit the IGNITE Conference website for more details!
  • after observing people taking down sermon notes using various, different notebooks or paper, YPM has produced a "Rezolution" notebook - so that everyone can use the same journal/notebook to take down notes together... Buy 1 at S$1/-! [Get it from the counter/usher's table at YPM.] There are also other stuff in the book, including a message from Uncle William (Acting YPM Head) and the "DNA of a Believer" - for your encouragement and edification.
In light of the approaching Friendship Day (14 Feb), you might want to consider getting another book as a gift for a friend...

a new purpose

Primary Purpose: This site is maintained as an archive of the preparation process and events related to YPM Camp 2005: Rezolution.
Do check out the sermon notes & camp videos describing what occurred during the YPM Camp.

Purpose (of multimedia/resources):
  • To provide resources for those who did not attend the camp to have a peek into what took place during the Rezolution'05.
  • To trigger the memories for those who attended the camp, to recall what God did during the camp...
This blog started out as a space to share about the preparation of the YPM Camp 2005: ReZolution. A publicity tool. Podcasting and Blogging to provide some insight into the camp preparation, sharing prayer requests, and sharing from the contributors of the blog (Amelia Tan - Camp Chairman & Isaac Yeo - Publicity i/c + Treasurer). Most posts are concentrated on camp related matters, but not all posts are necessarily only regarding the YPM Camp/YPM.
Post-camp evolution of this blog:
after the camp, this blog shall become a repository and archive of what was posted (what took place) during the preparation process of the camp.... and descriptions (thru' posts, video or other mediums) of the camp program (sermons, games, etc).

do return occasionally to "check back in".
